Neogen Fraser Broth Supplement is a culture media supplement formulated as ferric ammonium citrate for use in the selective enrichment and differential detection of Listeria spp. It is intended for use with Fraser Broth Base and Demi Fraser Broth Base to produce the characteristic black esculetin–iron precipitate that indicates esculin hydrolysis by Listeria. The product is supplied as a 10 mL supplement vial for addition to tempered, sterilized Fraser broths for microbiological analysis of food, animal feed, water and environmental samples.
