The Malvern Panalytical I-OLIGO-3078 Polar Organic Column CLM1014 is a size-exclusion chromatography column designed for analysis of oligomeric and low-molecular-weight polymers in polar organic solvents. The column is a 300 x 7.8 mm mixed-bed styrene-divinylbenzene column with a surface coating to reduce sample–stationary phase interactions, and it is intended for GPC/SEC separations of polar organic-soluble samples such as oligomers, nylon in formic acid and challenging polar polymers.

Key Features:

  • Part number / model: CLM1014
  • Column grade: I-OLIGO-3078 (polar organic I-column)
  • Dimensions: 300 mm x 7.8 mm
  • Particle size: 5 µm
  • Theoretical plates: >15,000 per column
  • Exclusion limit (polystyrene): 10,000 Da
  • Shipped in dichloromethane (DCM); compatible with polar organic solvents (e.g., DMF, DMSO, acetonitrile, methanol, THF)

Advantages:

  • High separation efficiency from >15,000 theoretical plates for improved resolution of low‑MW species.
  • Coated styrene-divinylbenzene mixed-bed packing minimizes interaction with polar samples, enabling cleaner SEC/GPC traces for polar organic polymers.
  • Optimized for polar organic solvents and formic acid, supporting analysis of oligomers and polymers that require polar media.
  • 300 x 7.8 mm format and 5 µm particle size provide a balance of separation performance and practical column backpressure for common analytical systems.
