The IndiSpin Pathogen Kit is a spin-column based extraction kit for purification of pathogen nucleic acids from animal and environmental samples. It isolates viral RNA and DNA as well as bacterial DNA from starting materials such as whole blood, serum, plasma, other body fluids, swabs, washes, and tissue, and provides purified nucleic acids suitable for downstream applications such as real-time PCR and RT-PCR. The kit is supplied for 250 reactions and supports both manual centrifugation workflows and automation on compatible platforms for low- to medium-throughput processing.

Key Features:

  • Format: Spin-column based extraction
  • Target analytes: Viral RNA, viral DNA, and bacterial DNA
  • Suitable sample types: Whole blood, serum, plasma, other body fluids, swabs, washes, and tissue
  • Reactions per kit: 250 reactions
  • Handling: Manual centrifugation protocol; compatible with automation on QIAcube and similar platforms
  • Kit contents include: Spin columns, collection tubes, lysis and wash buffers, Proteinase K, carrier RNA, and elution buffer

Advantages:

  • Unified protocol for simultaneous extraction of DNA and RNA, simplifying workflows
  • Efficient removal of inhibitors and contaminants to yield high-purity nucleic acids for sensitive downstream assays
  • Compatible with automation for increased throughput and reproducibility while retaining a straightforward centrifugation procedure
  • Broad applicability across diverse veterinary and environmental sample matrices
