Mixed cellulose ester (MCE) nitrocellulose membrane disc designed for laboratory filtration and microbiological analysis. The membrane is unsupported and hydrophilic, composed of a mixture of cellulose nitrate and cellulose acetate polymers, and is supplied as white, gridded 47 mm discs with 0.22 µm nominal pore size in packs of 100. Typical uses include aqueous filtration, microbiological enumeration, bioburden and sterility testing, and gravimetric particulate analysis.
