The SpeedDigester K-439 is an infrared (IR) laboratory digester designed to perform rapid chemical digestion of samples for analyses such as Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen (TKN), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), heavy metals and phosphate. The instrument accelerates digestion by transferring heat quickly from IR heaters to the samples and supports continuous addition of H2O2 through capillary funnels to shorten processing times. It is intended for use in analytical workflows requiring reliable, high-throughput digestion of liquid and solid samples, including applications with aqueous matrices.

Key Features:

  • Max. temperature: 580°C
  • Sample positions: 12
  • Sample tube volume: 250 mL
  • Typical sample parameters: Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen (TKN), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), heavy metals, phosphate
  • Continuous addition of H2O2 through capillary funnels for accelerated digestion
  • Individual operation of each heating chamber (independent control)

Advantages:

  • Rapid digestion and reduced processing time due to fast IR heat transfer and accelerated cool-down
  • High sample throughput enabled by 12 positions and support for continuous reagent addition
  • Flexible application range — supports Kjeldahl, COD and other reflux or acid digestions
  • Enhanced safety and fumes management via sealed suction modules and compatibility with scrubber systems
