The SpeedDigester K-436 is an entry-level infrared (IR) digester designed for accelerated sample mineralization and Kjeldahl or reflux digestion workflows. It provides fast heat transfer and reduced cool-down times to increase sample throughput, and supports continuous addition of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) to accelerate the digestion step. The instrument is suitable for applications such as Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen (TKN), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), heavy metals and phosphate determinations, and can be configured for standard aqueous and reflux digestions.

Key Features:

  • Maximum temperature: 580 °C
  • Sample capacity: 12 positions (configured for 300 mL sample tubes)
  • Compatible sample tube sizes: 100 mL, 300 mL, 500 mL (ISO 6060 compliant for COD/reflux)
  • Continuous H2O2 addition via capillary funnels
  • Independent control of the two heating chambers

Advantages:

  • Higher sample throughput through rapid IR heating and quicker cool-down times
  • Faster digestion cycles by continuous H2O2 addition, reducing overall process time
  • Flexible use for Kjeldahl and reflux digestion methods across multiple tube sizes
  • Improved operator safety through sealed suction modules for efficient fume extraction
