The SpeedDigester K-425 is an infrared (IR) digestion instrument for laboratory sample preparation that combines Kjeldahl and reflux digestion in a single unit. It uses IR heating to rapidly transfer heat to samples and shorten cool-down times, increasing sample throughput for applications such as Kjeldahl (total nitrogen/protein), COD, heavy metals, phosphate and aqua regia digestions. The unit configuration is 230 V and accommodates six 300 mL sample tubes in the KB 1154252200 configuration.

Key Features:

  • Supply voltage: 230 V
  • Sample capacity/configuration: 6 × 300 mL (KB 1154252200)
  • Maximum temperature: 580 °C
  • Compatible sample tube sizes: 100 mL, 300 mL, 500 mL (BUCHI sample tubes, ISO 6060 compliant)
  • Sample positions per run: 5–12 (adjustable depending on configuration)

Advantages:

  • Faster heat transfer and quicker cool-down via infrared heating increases sample throughput and reduces processing times.
  • Combines Kjeldahl and reflux digestion workflows in one instrument for flexible multi-application use (e.g., TKN, COD, hydroxyproline, aqua regia).
  • Compatibility with multiple BUCHI tube sizes and individual chamber control enables adaptable processing and homogeneous heating across samples.
  • Option for closed suction modules and integration with a scrubber for efficient removal and neutralization of hazardous vapors enhances laboratory safety.
