The SpeedDigester K-425 is an infrared digestion system designed to perform Kjeldahl and reflux digestions for sample preparation in environmental, food and chemical analysis. It accepts BUCHI sample tubes for digestion (100 mL, 300 mL, 500 mL) and is used to accelerate mineralization steps such as Kjeldahl total nitrogen (TKN), COD, heavy metals and phosphate determinations. The instrument provides fast heating and rapid cool-down, and supports continuous H2O2 addition to shorten digestion times and increase sample throughput.

Key Features:

  • Power: 230 V
  • Sample positions: 5 (configured for 5 × 500 mL sample tubes)
  • Compatible sample tube sizes: 100 mL, 300 mL, 500 mL (uses 500 mL tubes in this configuration)
  • Maximum temperature: 580 °C
  • Applications: Kjeldahl (TKN), COD, heavy metals, phosphate, hydroxyproline and aqua regia digestions

Advantages:

  • High throughput through fast infrared heating, rapid cooling and continuous H2O2 addition, reducing digestion times.
  • Flexible operation enabling both Kjeldahl and reflux digestions and compatibility with multiple BUCHI sample tube sizes.
  • Improved safety via sealed suction modules and the option to connect a Scrubber K-415 for effective neutralization of fumes.
  • Individual operation of each heating chamber and convenient storage features (drip tray and cooling-position rack) for bench-space efficiency.
