Biokar BCYE Agar w/o cysteine for Legionella (20 plates Ø 90 mm BM07308) is a selective and differential medium designed for the isolation and cultivation of Legionella species, particularly Legionella pneumophila. It contains antibiotics to inhibit the growth of common bacteria while allowing Legionella species to grow. The charcoal in the medium helps absorb inhibitory substances produced by Legionella, ensuring optimal growth conditions. This ready-to-use agar is a modified version of the original BCYE Agar, without cysteine.
