Hydrophilic Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) disk filters for laboratory filtration and sample preparation. The supported PVDF membrane is internally backed by an inert polyester web to provide dimensional stability and higher throughputs, making it suitable for filtration of biological solutions, sterilizing clarification, and preparation of protein-containing solutions prior to chromatography or instrumental analyses. The membrane offers broad chemical compatibility and low protein binding for applications requiring minimal sample loss and low extractables.

Key Features:

  • Membrane material: Hydrophilic PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride)
  • Pore size: 0.22 µm
  • Diameter: 47 mm
  • Pack quantity: 100 per pack
  • Supported by inert polyester web for dimensional stability
  • Maximum operating temperature: 175°F (autoclavable)

Advantages:

  • Superior mechanical strength to withstand aggressive handling and use with automated equipment without tearing
  • Low protein binding minimizes retention of proteins in solution
  • Low extractables for cleaner, more consistent analytical results
  • Dimensional stability and higher throughput reduce the number of filter changes during filtration
